How to Set Up Wi-Fi Hotspot without Software?

Nowadays it is possible to share your computer’s internet with your mobile devices or those devices that are capable of catching Wi-Fi, For example, you have one mobile, and two laptops and you have only one wire internet connection so you can share that connection from one to others. It is very simple now a days to do this.

For this purpose, you have to open “Command Promote” in administrator view, and Follow the steps below to know how to setup Wi-Fi hotspot on your computer.

What is Wi-Fi Hotspot?

Wi-Fi hotspot is a virtual connection that can be used for sharing your internet connection. Usually, it is provided on smartphone devices but you can also set up a hotspot connection on your computer. The requirement for setting up a hotspot in your computer is a Wi-Fi connection which is usually always available on Laptops so, this article will be very helpful for laptop users who have a DSL connection and want to share their internet with their mobile devices.

Requirements.

There are only two requirements are needed to set up a hotspot connection these are.
1.   You need an active internet connection for the hosted network.
2.   You need a wireless card or USB to send a signal, the card is usually available for all laptop users so they can set up hotspots for their devices easily.

How to setup Hotspot Connection?

Step 1. Open Command Promote as administrator privilege. ( how to open command promote check below.)

Step 2. Now Type

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=nameOfwifiHotspot key=yourpassword

Step 3. For Starting Wi-Fi Hotspot type

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Step 4. Congrats you have set up a hotspot but actually, it’s not over still you cannot access the internet through any device. For activating the internet on just going to your “network and sharing center” and open up properties of the active network on your computer. From the Sharing tab check the first box in the list and select your hotspot network in private network connection tab.

Step 5. Congrats you are done now you can access your computer’s internet connection from any Wi-Fi capable device.

How to open command promote.

Windows XP;

For Windows XP just open the run command and type “cmd” and press enter command promote will be open

Windows 7;

For Windows 7 just type “cmd” in search from the start menu you’ll get a command prompt

Windows 8/8.1;

For Windows 8 or 8.1 just right click on the start menu button and open “command promote (admin)” or watch the video for more details.

How to check the status of your Hotspot Connection?

For checking your hosted network status that how many are connected with you, your hosted network is started or not, the name of your hotspot and security etc. for this just type below in command promote.

netsh wlan show hostednetwork

How to stop Hotspot Connection?

This is very simple to stop your hotspot connection.
Just type below in command promote.

netsh wlan stop hostednetwork

Note:
1.   If you don’t start Wi-Fi before setting up for hotspot then you might take an error.
2.   If you don’t open command prompt in administrator privilege then you might take error.

Tip:
If you say this method is very lengthy and repeated for every time you should to make a notepad file for all the process and save this file as .bat so, you will have to open that file for every time then it will not more lengthy and repeated.
